Announces a one or two year Fellowship in Neurosurgery sponsored by ELEKTA and the Diane and David Heller Foundation.

The goal of the Fellowship is to provide the capacity to determine without bias the optimal treatment with microneurosurgery, radiosurgery or embolization alone or combined.

The Fellowship consists of extensive exposure to the whole spectrum of neurosurgical techniques including micro and radiosurgery as well as open stereotactic and endovascular procedures. Experience will help the Fellow to climb at a high level on the learning curve necessary to provide or advise the best management alternative for a given patient.

The ideal candidate would be a young neurosurgeon from a residency training program of excellence in the United States or an equivalent program from abroad who during her or his residency demonstrated good skills in microsurgery. We would also consider senior or chief residents in neurosurgery residency programs.

Announces four months international fellowships for graduated neurosurgeons.

The accepted fellows will have an “observer” status only. During the fellowship, they will observe the surgical activity of the Department of Neurosurgery and will participate to the academic programs of the Department.
They will be able to study the organization, of the patient care and the residential training program.

The monthly stipend will be US Dollars $1,500 which covers meals and lodging expenses. The travel expenses to Charlottesville and back home as well as health insurance should be taken care by the fellows.
