President News

We join our colleagues from the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in mourning the untimely death of  their past president Dr. Christopher Getch.  Christopher was a great friend of international neurosurgery.  He was a dedicated family man, a talented surgeon, and a visionary leader.  We send our condolences to his wife Dr. Gale England and their four sons in this tragic death.

WFNS News

We are pleased to announce that Professor Yong Kwang Tu (Taiwan) was elected as President-elect at the WFNS Interim Meeting of the Executive Meeting held on Friday, 16 September 2011 in Porto Galinhas, Pernambuco, Brazil. Professor Tu will actually take up the office as President at the last meeting of the Executive Committee on 12 September 2013, at our forthcoming World Congress of Neurosurgery to be held in Seoul, Korea.

11 new member societies were elected to full membership of WFNS at the Interim Meeting of the Executive Committee held in Porto Galinhas, Pernambuco, Brazil, being as follows:
