World Neurosurgery

Dear Colleagues,

The official Journal of the WFNS “World Neurosurgery” has decided to present a free of charge quarterly publication on the WWW in order to further advance the objectives stressed by Anthony Raimondi, founder and former Editor of Critical Reviews in Neurosurgery, which used to be published by ©Springer-Verlag.
In doing so, the Editor and the Editorial Board are rendering a well deserved honor to this outstanding figure.

The aim of World Neurosurgery is to publish original articles, case reports, book reviews and general information, also informative, analytic and synthetic critiques of the most recent publications directly related to our specialty.

The critics, done by experienced reviewers and leaders in their fields of neurosurgery, give our readers the details in selected communications, followed by well-articulated perspectives which put into relief the true value of what has been written.

The aim of the WFNS and the renewed Editorial Committee is provided to the international neurosurgical community access without any cost to a publication of high scientific and educative content.

This is particularly interesting for colleagues working in remote areas of the planet in which the arrival of printed information is extremely difficult. To day thanks to the use of Internet. we hoped to contribute actively to solve this gap through a virtual publication.

Last but not least we are thankful to Elekta by its contribution that makes possible the publication of this Journal.
