About the Training Center:

Hyogo College of Medicine is located in Nishinomiya city, Hyogo. It takes 15 min to central Osaka and 30 min to Kobe by train. We have stroke center, advanced neurosurgery center, and interventional suites. Our university hospital has around 1,000 beds, and we perform more than 600 neurosurgical operations including 250 neuroendovascular therapies per year.

 

Program Details:

  • Duration of fellowship is 1-12 months.
  • The free accommodation and 3 meals are available during studying in the department (2 persons are maximum at the same time). The accommodation place is close to the hospital (10-min walk).
  • Traveling expenses should be paid by the fellows.
  • Fellows are allowed to attend daily morning conference (in English), and also workshops and other educational activities in Japan and international conferences during the fellowship period.

 

Activities:

  • Fellows can observe any neurosurgical subspecialty they are interested in, such as neuroendovascular interventions, cerebrovascular surgeries, brain tumors, endoscopic surgeries, and spinal surgeries.
  • Fellows can participate in case presentations and discussions in daily morning conference which is held in English, also regular rounds in wards and intensive care units.
  • Fellows are also encouraged to participate in educational activities such as research conference, journal club or topic review.
  • Fellows are not permitted to perform surgeries, but they can assist. They can discuss procedural techniques, devices, and so on.
  • Fellows are allowed to write the article and publish their work during the fellowship program

  • A copy of the diploma in Medicine or a certificate issued by the Faculty of Medicine.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • The letter(s) of recommendation
  • A motivation letter
