New York University Post-Graduate Training Program
As one of the nation’s leading academic neurosurgery programs, the New York University Medical Center offers a depth and breadth of surgical experience that few institutions can match. With over 20 full-time clinical and research faculty members, our department serves as a national and international referral center. One of our hallmarks is that other physicians routinely refer their most complex surgical cases to our neurosurgeons, knowing that there’s no case we can’t handle. At the same time, our surgeons’ clinical skills are complemented by their deep commitment to compassionate patient care, and by a team of nurse practitioners, physician assistants and support staff who are unsurpassed in their training, expertise and empathy. At NYU Langone Neurosurgery, we are guided by a simple philosophy: the patient always comes first.
Prof. Jafar J. Jafar, M.D., F.A.C.S., of the Department of Neurosurgery at New York University Medical Center, New York, USA, offers a 3 month paid international fellowship to senior residents, postgraduate fellows, or recently graduated neurosurgeons. The fellows have the liberty to observe any Neurosurgical subspecialty they are interested in, which include: cerebrovascular, brain tumors, spine, epilepsy-functional, pediatric, radiosurgery, and interventional neuroradiology. The visiting fellows are strongly encouraged to get involved in writing a paper with one of the attending staff during their stay. The monthly stipend is US $ 3,000, which should cover meals and lodging expenses. Travel expenses are not included, and are born by the accepted fellows.
